The Honest Truth

You want to know the honest truth?  I'm going to give it to you.

Most people will never be great because they're afraid to look stupid.

Yeah, breathe that in for a second. It's harsh but you know it's tHE HONEST TRUTH. We hold back in life and we are our own worst enemies because we fear what others will think. We spend so much time fearing these things, we start to become them. I don't mind looking stupid. I do mind looking back on my life and wishing I had tried hard and not given up. So I'm going to tell you how to let yourself be great.

First, I need you to be consistent.

Your work today drives tomorrow's results. Do it for tomorrow.

HONEST TRUTH - Don't think it's going to get handed to you. You gotta work, honey.

There is no magic pill for this one; no shortcut to getting you there without the work. You have to do you harder than anyone else is doing them. It's not a competition with them. It's a competition with you.

Don't forget that you don't know everything.

You may be an expert in your field, but everyone has something to learn. Be humble and you'll go further.

Be rubber

Remember that saying when we were kids, "I'm rubber, and you're glue, whatever you say bounces off me and sticks to you." Okay so maybe we don't keep it that petty, but our younger selfs had the right idea. Things will go wrong, words will hurt, and processes and people will have to change. Your resilience to these things will define your success.

When you want to hold on to that anger, let it go.

Whether it be towards yourself or others, there is no room for negativity in life. Allow yourself and others forgiveness.

Stop Waiting for the perfect time

There will never be a perfect time, a perfect product, or a perfect anything. Take the risk and learn from your mistakes. That's how you become great.

Do you, proudly.

I don't want you to hold your head in shame when something doesn't go right. When it's right and when it's wrong; own it. That's you and you have grit. Go with the Honest Truth.
