A Weekend in ATL: The Best Things To Do in Atlanta
First stop: Atlanta.
The capitol of Georgia, and home of the busiest airport in the country (fact, not opinion, but girl it's the truth). I walked off my plane into the hustle and bustle of a city I might just call home one day. I've been antsy for a while now; a bigger purpose calling for me to move out of Utah and surround myself with new experiences. Don't get me wrong, Utah will always be home and I have never loved it more than I love it now - but bigger things, they call to me.
Atlanta was one of the first places I knew I wanted to check out; but I didn't expect to love it the way I did. I was drawn to it because of the passionate people, a multicultural mecca, the entrepreneurial spirit just radiating off the city lines. What I didn't expect was to find within the fast paced city in the south, was genuine kindness and gratitude in almost every interaction. I was taken back by the warmth of the city and how welcoming everyone was.
Atlanta is the perfect city. It's business savvy, family friendly, and has a great vibe for adult shenanigans if you have a babysitter. Truth be told, I didn't want to leave. Regardless of if you're going for the weekend, or going stay, there is something in Atlanta for you.
Here are a few of my favorite Atlanta gems:
THE RITZ CARLTON ATLANTA
Honor and I stayed at The Ritz Carlton Atlanta and I really can't say enough good things about this amazing hotel. They were so accommodating and went over and beyond to make us both feel so welcome. We arrived really late our first night there, after getting a little lost in a new city. It had been a really long day, but when we arrived in our room we were surprised by what we found. The sweet staff had left Honor a treat in our room and it was the perfect welcome to our stay. It didn't stop there though. The turn down service was seriously the best every day and they brought H a treat each night! It was so incredibly special.
The Ritz Carlton Atlanta had so many amazing amenities as well. The foyer is lined with marble flooring, to make your trip one full of luxury. In the rooms, you're met with a marble bath tub with granite vanity and rain shower shower head, a 37-inch flat-panel HDTV, and a fully stocked honor bar. They offer dry cleaning and laundry services, as well as extensive business services.
In house, they have so much good food. AG modern steakhouse (which I'll highlight in just a minute - yum), Lumen Bar, and Jittery Joe’s coffee shop. The have fitness facilities on property but also give you access to a neighboring fitness club with classes, complimentary workout attire and state-of-the-art equipment. It's in a prime location near Georgia Aquarium, Georgia Dome, Philips Arena, Turner Field, Georgia World Congress Center and AmericasMart.
This is just a highlight, there is so much more! The RCA was beyond all expectations. Check out their website below to learn even more about the best hotel in Atlanta. We loved them from check-in to check-out.

AG AT THE RITZ-CARLTON, ATLANTA
The AG Resturaunt is located inside of the Ritz Carlton Atlanta, and that's like the best ice cream on top of the best cake you've ever had. The Ritz is an amazing experience in itself, but then you add food from brilliant chefs and the quickest room service I've ever had to bring it straight to us, there just isn't beating that experience.
Mamas, let me level with you. We all know how hard eating at a nice restaurant, or any restaurant for that matter, can be with a toddler. This was the best of both worlds, because I was able to experience an amazing meal in the privacy of my own room - and it arrived so quick! When Honor said she was hungry, I made quick call, and I didn't have to deal with tantrums before it got there.
The AG was next level good and side note for those mamas who did have to deal with some tantrums that day... they have the best wine selections ever! *wink wink*

One of our favorite stops in Atlanta was at The Georgia Aquarium. It was truly amazing and hands down one of the best aquariums we've ever been too! I mean, you guys, THEY HAD WHALES! Whales! The whales had to be our favorite. But beyond that, the staff was kind, knowledgeable and welcoming. The facilities were immaculate and beautiful. And they had so much to offer.
There's a reason we thought it was the best too, The Georgia Aquarium is the largest aquarium in the Western Hemisphere with more than 10 million gallons of water. At opening, the Guinness Book of World Records certified Georgia Aquarium as having more aquatic life than any other aquarium. They have more than 100,000 animals! You guys, that's a lot. This place was an under the see wonderland, and I could have easily spent all day there admiring all they have to offer.
If you're looking for a more private experience, check out their behind the scenes tours. They have so many options tailored to your interests! I think I loved our experience at The Georgia Aquarium as much as Honor did.

THE TAVERN AT ATLAS
As if my time in Atlanta weren't good enough, my travel buddy and I took a night off from the kiddos and ventured out to Atlas for a girls night. Known for being a unique experience anchored by an evolving menu of curated cocktails and inspired small plates crafted by hand to be enjoyed at your own pace, Atlas did not disappoint.
The restaurant’s impressive gallery of 20th century artwork has been selected from The Lewis Collection, one of the largest private art collections in the world. Picasso, Monet, Foujita line the walls, which is beyond impressive and breathtaking.
We sat outside for drinks and appetizers, which was so great because we got to experience more than one area of the restaurant. The weather was perfect and the food was divine. When we were done with that portion of the night, we were seated inside the restaurant near a Van Gogh painting. I didn't know where to let my eyes linger longer, at my food or the beautiful master piece hanging near my head. It was an incredible experience to say the least. Our food was presented to us as a 3 course meal with wine pairings for each course.
Everything about Atlas screams perfection. We couldn't have had a better experience. The staff were so welcoming, the chefs were brilliant, and the experience above par. Ladies, have your man take you on a date here! Fancy! Fancy!
Atlanta was beyond all of my expectations. It was so hard to leave, but I know I'll be back soon - whether to visit or to stay. If you're looking for a new city to explore, give ATL a go!
Next stop: Dallas!
