Can we talk about the inspiration overload we see on a daily basis? The Instagram and blogging world are just FULL of beautiful images, captivating stories, and on-point styling. It’s easy to want to fall into line with these other images, and want to recreate them. But let me tell you something, honey, easy isn’t how success is made! If you want to create your personal brand, you have to create something that hasn’t already been done. I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again, there is no competition when you are manifesting your own lane.

So let’s talk about 5 ways you create your personal brand, and manifest your own lane:

|1| Imitation is the best form of flattery? Is it? I’m going to go out on a limb and say what everyone else is thinking. NO. It’s not. It’s insulting to the person creating their personal brand, and it’s going to be harder to maintain for you because it’s not authentic. And more importantly for you, it’s not going to get you to the next level because every step you take has already been taken by someone else. Why live in someone else shadow, when baby you were born to shine! Keep rising to the top.

|2| Have your own niche, stand out. Sometimes if you overstep and copy other people’s content strategy to the T, other people notice, and you can start to become less appealing. There's a difference between copying and adding your own personal touch to it. Check yourself, over and over and over. When you do wrong admit it and then move on. "Motives and thoughts," as my girl Lauren hill says, “check them religiously.” Don't become a duplicate. Be the original you were born to be.

|3| Blowing out someone else's candle doesn't make yours shine any brighter. This one is a major key for manifesting your own lane. I’ve seen this SO many times in this little community we have. Women cutting each other down, only to do the exact same thing later on. We can all shine baby, and blowing out someone else’s candle, only puts the spotlight on you in a negative way. Remember we rise by lifting others!

|4| Let your personal brand represent exactly who you are as a person and where you want your life to go. Go back through your feed and read posts you've made last few months or even the past year. Are you evolving, or staying the same place? Are you growing? Are you uplifting? Are you checking yourself? Part of manifesting your own lane is #selfgrowth. Something that’s been very important to me from the beginning of this journey was staying true to who I am. I don’t work with brands that I don’t naturally support, I don’t tell a story that isn’t something I don’t actually believe in, and I don’t post just to post. My feed has transitioned with me, as I’ve become more interested in different things. It’s my story. When I’m scrolling through IG, I want to see yours.

|5| Sisterhood. Your vibe is your tribe. Surround yourself with those who make you better + genuinely want to see you win. People will ride your coat-tails, and knock you down. Don’t surround yourself with anyone who is happy to see you fail. It’s okay to say goodbye to anyone who isn’t helping you grow. Lift those around you, and see who does it in return. Those are your people. Those are your sisters.
